In 2006 the Club celebrated it's 25th Anniversary with a weekend of fun and games held in Rotorua. The weekend was all about having fun, with games for the newfs and humans.
The weekend kicked off with a BBQ dinner on the Friday night, and from what we hear a "local" singing group arrived and never left till late!

Saturday morning started off with breakfast cooked for us all, and then on to a fun teams carting event. After lunch the humans ventured inside for team games, split in to branches we had 3 games - of course there is nothing like a bit of cheating and inter-branch rivalry! |

The Newfoundland Club also approved a new award, The "Ambassador Award", which was awarded on the night for the first time to Gordon Barnett. Gordon - along with many of his newfies - have spent many hours fundraising for local charities.
The citation will be available shortly. |

Sunday was a day for some fun with the newfs, and of course water was involved. Again teams events - fastest swimmer, towing boats and handlers. Of course there just had to be one last competition - Tug of War between Midland and Auckland. Because you can't really cheat at this game, AUCKLAND WON! |
